You are here: Home » Recipes » Creole Fudge Loaf Creole Fudge Loaf Recipe by amccme Yield 1 dozen PrintEmail Ingredients 1 3/4 cups sifted cake flour1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 cup butter or other shortening1 cup sugar*1 large egg, well beaten2 pieces (squares) unsweetened chocolate, melted3/4 cup milk1 teaspoon vanilla Instructions Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt and sift together three times. Cream shortening, add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat well; then add chocolate and blend. Add flour, alternating with milk, a small amount at a time, beating after each addition until smooth. Add vanilla. Bake in greased pan, 8x8x2 inches, in slow oven (325* F.) 1 hour or until done.* Spread Easy Fluffy Frosting (1/2 recipe) on top and sides of cake. When frosting is set, pour* Chocolate Coating over cake, letting it run down on sides. Keep cake in a cool place until chocolate becomes firm.
