Chocolate Pudding Cake with Walnuts

  • Yield 6 servings

Ingredients

Cake:
1 tablespoon butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Topping:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 1/4 cups boiling water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix first 8 ingredients. Spread  in a 9-inch pan.  Sprinkle nuts over top.
  2. Combine topping ingredients. Sprinkle over walnuts.
  3. Just before putting into the oven, pour boiling water and vanilla over all.
  4. Bake 40 or 50 min at 350 degrees.
  5. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
