Chocolate Pounders Cake
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1/2 cup Crisco
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 -- eggs
- 3 cups cake flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup Droste (or other ) cocoa
- 1 cup sweet milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
Cream butter, crisco, sugar.
Add eggs to above mixture and beat until sugar is dissolved.
Sift together flour, baking powder,salt, cocoa.
To creamed mixture, add sifted ingredients alternately with sweet milk.
BAKE @ 325 for 1 hour & 20 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes, turn out from pan and let cool.
