Chocolate Pound Cake

Ingredients

3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 pound butter
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
5 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Sift flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt together.
  2. Cream butter and shortening together.
  3. Add sugar and beat until light.
  4. Add eggs one at a time.
  5. Beat in flour mixture and milk alternately.
  6. Add vanilla.
  7. Bake in a greased tube pan at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
