Chocolate Mouse Fantasy Torte

  • Yield 12 - 24 servings

Ingredients

1 box brownie mix
3/4 cup butter
2 teaspoons instant coffee
1/4 cup water
1 1/2 cups chocolate morsels
1 teaspoon instant coffee
1 ounce unsweetened Bakers chocolate
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup whipping cream, whipped
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped
1/2 ounce unsweetened Baker's chocolate, melted

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Butter a 9 or ten inch spring form pan.

Combine brownie mix, butter, instant coffee and water. Beat 1 minute until smooth.

Spread in prepared pan and bake for 40 to 45 minutes. 

Cool on wire rack for 15 minutes before removing side of pan.  Cool for an additional hour before removing shell from bottom of pan.

To make the filling:  Melt morsels, instant coffee, uinsweetend chocolate, butter, and water in microwave or over hot water.  (If baking chocolate is cut into small pieces, you won't need to get it too hot.) 

Cool to luke warm.

Fold in whipped cream and spread on brownie shell.

Dress the top of the torte with a light layer of whipped cream and drizzle with melted chocolate.

Refrigerate.

Remove from refrigerator 1/2 hour befor serving.
