Chocolate Brown Sugar Cupcakes

  • Yield 12 servings


3/4 cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2-1/2 cup all-purpose flour
3 small eggs
1-1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons canilla extract
1/4 cup brewed coffee
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup sour cream
2 ounces chocolate chips
2 ounces chocolate square, melted
1 pint heavy cream
1 cup brown sugar


  1. To make the cupcakes: Place ingredients in the order listed in a mixing bowl. Blend well.
  2. Preheat oven to 350F. Line muffin cups with paper liners.
  3. Spoon batter into liners until half full. Bake until cupcakes spring back with lightly pressed.
  4. To make the frosting: Whip cream until stiff peaks form. Fold in brown sugar. Spread on cooled cupcakes.
