Chipotle Cranberry Barbecue Sauce

  • Yield 2 1/2 cups

A sweet, spicy barbecue sauce that's great for grilled chicken and pork.


2 teaspoons chopped fresh ginger
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 garlic clove
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup catsup
1 cup cranberry sauce
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons chipotle powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup fresh lime juice


  1. Saute ginger, onions and garlic until tender, but not browned. Combine remaining ingredients in food processor with ginger/onoin/garlic mixture. Process until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to be used. Brush on meat in the last 15 to 20 minutes of cooking.
