Cheese and Fruit Kebabs

Mix and match fruit that is seasonally available such as apples, blackberries, blueberries, melon balls, star fruit, kiwi, pineapple (canned or fresh), and clementine or tangerine slices. You’ll need 1- to 1 1/2-inch cookie cutters and 4 (12-inch) skewers to make these kabobs. Get your kid’s involved in cutting the cheese shapes and threading the cheese and fruit onto skewers.

Ingredients

3ounces Gouda cheese
4large fresh strawberries
1cup grapes
2 pears, sliced
Half an apple or melon

Instructions

  1. Slice the cheese into 1/2-inch slices. Place strawberries, grapes and pears in separate small bowls so kids can assemble their own kabob. Place the half apple cut-side down on a plate so kids can stick skewers into apple. Use cookie cutters to cut shapes out of the cheese slices. Carefully thread fruit and cheese onto skewers. To serve, place the pointy end of the skewer into the half apple.
