Caramel Corn

This caramel corn is so easy to make. It's the perfect snack for Halloween parties. Kids of all ages love it!
Ingredients
- 7 1/2 quarts popped popcorn
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200F.
- In a saucepan, heat butter, sugar, corn syrup and salt. Stir occasionally. When mixture comes to a full boil, cook for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in baking soda. Pour caramel mixture over popcorn and mix until evenly coated.
- Bake for 1 hour in large, greased roasting pan, stirring every 15 minutes.
Tips From Our Test Kitchen: Maple-flavored syrup is a nice substitute for the corn syrup. For some extra crunch, stir in 1 cup of pecans or peanuts.
