  • Yield 15 servings

This caramel corn is so easy to make. It's the perfect snack for Halloween parties. Kids of all ages love it!

7 1/2 quarts popped popcorn
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda

  1. Preheat oven to 200F.
  2. In a saucepan, heat butter, sugar, corn syrup and salt. Stir occasionally. When mixture comes to a full boil, cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda. Pour caramel mixture over popcorn and mix until evenly coated.
  4. Bake for 1 hour in large, greased roasting pan, stirring every 15 minutes.

Tips From Our Test Kitchen: Maple-flavored syrup is a nice substitute for the corn syrup. For some extra crunch, stir in 1 cup of pecans or peanuts.
