Buttermilk Coconut Pie

  • Yield: 8 servings


1 1/2cups sugar (or less)
3-- eggs
6tablespoons buttermilk
1/2stick melted butter
1cup coconut
1teaspoon vanilla
pinch salt


  1. Mix all ingredients together.  Place in unbaked pie shell.  Bake at 450F for 10 minutes.  Reduce heat to 350F and bake 30 to 35 minutes longer.  May need to cover with foil last 10 to 15 minutes of cooking to prevent top from getting too brown.
