Sift together sugar, flour, salt, and baking soda. Add dry ingredients to hot mix. Add eggs, buttermilk, and 1 t. vanilla. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 min. in 13 x 9 cake pan. Bring 1 stick butter, 4 T. cocoa and milk to a boil for frosting. Add powdered sugar and 1 t. vanilla. Stir well and frost.
