A delicious and hearty chili to serve on a cold day.
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 -- (16-ounce) cans whole tomatoes
- 2 -- (16-ounce) cans red beans or kidney beans
- 1/2 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup chili powder
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- Brown the ground beef with the onion in a large saucepan, stirring until the ground beef is crumbly; drain. Stir in the undrained tomatoes, undrained beans, bourbon, chili powder, vinegar and salt. Simmer for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until of the desired consistency, stirring occasionally.
