Best Chocolate Cake or Cupcakes
- Yield 12 servings
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 cups Flour
- 2 Eggs
- 10 tablespoons Oil
- 1 cup Hershey Cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
Mix the flour, sugar, oil, eggs,Hershey cocoa, vanilla and salt in a large bowl
Boil water, measure out 2 Cups and add 2 tsp. of baking soda to this water. Gradually add this mixture to the dry mixture–the batter will be like water.
Bake in a 9×13 pan or an angel food pan or will make 24 cupcakes
Bake at 350 degrees for about 40-45 minutes. Cupcakes take about 20 minutes to bake.
Icing: 3 C. XXX sugar, 1 1/2 C. butter, vanilla, milk or creme -use-enough to make of spreading consistency. Using mixer, beat until smooth and spreadable.
