Banana Walnut Bread

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 1 -- egg
- 1-1/4 cup flour
- 3/4 cup ground walnuts
- 1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1-1/3 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 3)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions

In mixer bowl cream butter, sugar and peel. Beat in egg.

Combine flour, ground nuts, baking powder and soda. Add to creamed mixture alternately with bananas, blending thoroughly after each addition. Stir in chopped nuts.

Pour batter into greased 8 ½ X 4 ½-inch loaf pan.

Bake in 350F oven 50 to 55 minutes, until golden brown and pick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pan. Cool on rack before slicing.
