Banana-Caramel Pie
- Yield 8 servings
This pie will be the sweet treat you can't resist.
Ingredients
- 10 candy caramels
- 2 cups milk
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 slightly beaten egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 bananas
- 1 baked pie shell
- 1 cup heavy cream, whipped
Instructions
- Melt caramels in milk over low heat. Combine flour, sugar and salt in double boiler. Add caramel-milk mixture and cook over water until thick, stirring constantly. Add beaten egg yolks to which a little hot mixture has been added. Cook 5 minutes longer, stirring. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, cover and chill.
- Arrange 2 sliced bananas on bakied pie shell. Cover with filling. Top with whipped cream.
