This recipe was handed down through four generations of my family. It's good, quick and easy to make. And it makes the house smell really great!

Ingredients

2cups uncooked instant rice
3 eggs
1cup sugar
1/4teaspoon salt
1/4teaspoon vanilla
3cups milk
2tablespoons cinnamon-sugar mixture

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Cook rice until tender, according to package instructions.
  3. In large ovenproof dish, beat eggs. Whisk in vanilla, salt, sugar and milk. Add cooked rice. To prevent rice from sticking to sides, place dish in a larger ovenproof pan filled with 2 inches of water. Bake for 30 minutes. Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture over rice. Bake additional 30 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Tips From Our Test Kitchen: Top with whipped cream for a wonderful winter dessert.
