You are here: Home » Recipes » Bacon Appetizers Bacon Appetizers Recipe by nashuawolfy Yield 12 servings PrintEmail Ingredients 12 pieces water chestnuts12 slices bacon -- Teriyaki Sauce (below) -- dark brown sugar1/4 cup canola oil1/4 cup soy sauce2 tablespoons ketchup1 tablespoon vinegar1/4 teaspoon black pepper2 cloves garlic, pressed Instructions Cut chestnuts into halves. Pour Teriyaki sauce on chestnuts in bowl. Refrigerate at LEAST 2 hours, preferably overnight. Drain. Cut bacon slices in half. Wrap each water chestnut with a piece of bacon. Secure with a toothpick. Roll in brown sugar. Broil in 550 F oven 3 to 4 inches from heat until bacon is crisp, about 10 minutes. Serve hot. Appetizers may also be cooked on an hibachi, turning frequently, about 15 minutes. Note: Soak toothpicks in water before placing in over to help prevent charring. Teriyaki Sauce Mix all ingredients. Goes with bacon appetizers, or as a marinade for London Broil steak.
