PrintEmail Ingredients 1 cup sugar1 cup brown sugar1 cup shortening2 -- eggs3 cups flour2 teaspoons soda1/2 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon cinnamon1/2 teaspoon cloves1/2 teaspoon nutmeg2 cups warm applesauce1 teaspoon vanilla1 cup nuts1 cup golden raisins1 cup dates, chopped Instructions Cream sugars and shortening. Beat in eggs. Add flour, soda, salt, spices, applesauce and vanilla. Add nuts and fruit. (If desired, sprinkle with part of the flour.) Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.
