Ingredients 4 egg whites1 pinch salt2 cups powdered sugar1 cup chopped dates1 cup chopped nuts Instructions Preheat oven to 300F. Beat egg whites with salt for 3 minutes. Add powdered sugar and beat 10 minutes. Fold in dates and nuts, and drop by tablespoons on greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake for 25 minutes. Watch-they burn easily. Tips From Our Test Kitchen: Be sure to add the dates and nuts the last minute before baking or the cookies will become flat rather than fluffy. Sprinkle colored sugar on top, if desired. – Recipe by B.J. Brown, Oxford, Miss.
