You are here: Home » Recipes » Almond Joy Pie (my original receipe) Almond Joy Pie (my original receipe) Recipe by Dora Ivey Sumner Yield 8 servings PrintEmail Ingredients 2 units 9" pie crusts (frozen Mrs. Smith are really good)1 stick melted butter2 cups sugar5 units eggs1 teaspoon vanilla3/4 cup buttermilk1 cup coconut, shredded1/2 cup chocolate chips1 package sliced almonds Instructions PREHEAT oven to 350. Mix butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, buttermilk, and coconut together. Stir all ingredients together Pour l/2 cup chocolate chips in pie crust bottom Pour mixture on pie crust over chocolate chips Sprinkle with sliced almonds and bake in preheated oven for 60 minutes or until top of pie is medium brown. Cool. Refrigerate, or leave on counter for up to 3 weeks. I make 4 pies at a time because my oven will hold them. Everybody loves this pie!!!!
