Our App—Your New BFF
No, it won’t do the dishes, but it will help you get dinner on the table easier. It won’t guarantee the kids will eat what you put on the table, but they can browse for a dish they like. It may not be life-saving, but when you’re in a pinch for dinner, you’ll feel like it is. It’s our new mobile phone app. We made it extra simple to use—with minimal icons to tap, you won’t need a user’s manual.

Portion Size You
School’s in. In addition to reading, writing and arithmetic, learn how to portion size yourself and your kids. That’s just what 12-year-old Marshall Reid of Sanford, N.C., did two years ago. Fed up with his weight and being bullied, he put himself and his family on a quest to eat right.

Grilled Apples
Relish Chef Steve Petusevsky loves to grill apples on his George Foreman grill.
Combine 2 tablespoons each maple syrup, melted butter and lime juice, 1 tablespoongrated ginger, 1⁄4 cup orange juice, 1⁄2 teaspoon 5-spice powder. Core apples into cut into rings. Grill 10 minutes, basting with marinade. Serve with pork or ice cream.
 
 
Quinoa (Keen-wa)
High in protein and gluten-free, this super grain is showing up everywhere. You can find it next to the rice and couscous in your supermarket. It’s a great substitute for oatmeal, rice or any other grain. It cooks like rice. We love it in our Glazed Shrimp and Quinoa dish and Pecan Quinoa Breakfast Bowl at relish.com/quinoa.
