DIY Decorative Kitchen Jars
A fun craft makes a lovely gift for the cooks on your Christmas list.
For the new cook, old cook or kitchen diva on your Christmas list, pack up essentials like measuring spoons, paring knives, vegetable peelers and pastry brushes in a decorative jar—which then makes a perfect container for utensils, pasta, flour, dried beans, jellybeans…whatever strikes your fancy.
Materials:
- 2 quart wide-mouth Ball canning jars
- Alphabet stickers
Instructions:
1. Wash and dry jar. Apply alphabet stickers to the outside of jar to create cooking-related words, such as “zest,” “cook,” “stir,” “whisk,” “dice,” etc. Press edges of stick-on letters down using the back of a spoon to seal to glass.
2. Choose gadgets, candies, pasta, dried beans or other item to fill jar; replace lid.
3. Add a gift tag and/or ribbon.
